Corrine Zahra is a creative nonfiction writer from Manhattan, New York and Gozo, Malta.

 

She is an Adjunct English Instructor and Wordshop Coordinator at Malcolm X College, as well as a writing tutor within the University of Chicago's writing program.​

I'm the co-editor of Mgħawġin

There are very few opportunities on an island of 60,000 people like Gozo. Publishing opportunities barely exist. Ħaley Xuereb and I decided to co-found Mgħawġin to create a space for Gozitans to have their writing featured in a publication.

 

The literary journal aims to include both Maltese and English, bridging the gap between the two languages, while also encouraging people to write in Gozitan dialects.​
