The Ultimate Christmas Movie List

Happy holidays, readers! Christmas is five days away. Time to snuggle up with your loved ones and get into the Christmas spirit. Even though we cannot partaaay, we can definitely do a Christmas movie marathon. Here’s a list of Christmas movies which I’ve been collecting over the years to give you some ideas.

The Ones You Should Watch

They’re definitely classics in their own right but you might’ve not heard of them all. There’s a touch of comedy, a dash of love and definitely not the cliche movies you’ll find on Netflix and Hallmark.

  1. Jack Frost (1998)
  2. Jingle All the Way (1996)
  3. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
  4. Prancer (1989)
  5. Christmas in Wonderland (2007)
  6. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
  7. All I Want For Christmas (1991)
  8. Disney’s A Christmas Carol (2009)
  9. Unaccompanied Minors (2006)
  10. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause
  11. I’ll Be Home for Christmas (1998)
  12. Deck the Halls (2006)

The Cartoon Oldies

If you’re looking for something old-school, this is the list for you. Keep in mind that most are from the 70’s and the cartoons are not what we think of cartoons nowadays.

  1. Jack Frost (1979)
  2. Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town (1970)
  3. Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July (1979)
  4. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
  5. Frosty the Snowman (1969)
  6. T’was the Night Before Christmas (1974)
  7. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  8. Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (1976)
  9. The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974)
  10. The Little Drummer Boy (1968)
  11. Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983)
  12. Frosty’s Winter Wonderland (1979)
  13. A Miser Brothers’ Christmas (2008)
  14. Nestor, The Long Eared Christmas Donkey (1977)

The Universally Known Classics

I don’t think these need an introduction… we love them and watch them every year.

  1. Elf
  2. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
  3. The Polar Express
  4. Home Alone
  5. Home Alone 2 Lost in New York
  6. The Santa Clause
  7. The Santa Clause 2
  8. The Santa Clause 3 The Escape Clause

The Recent Ones

Christmas movies these days are shitty. If you watch a Netflix Christmas movie, it will most probably be a cliche romance or an adventurous tale with Santa in which you’ll probably know how it’ll end. The Hallmark Christmas movies are worse *cringe*. However, within the 2010’s there were a few Christmas movies that stood out and were actually good.

  1. Arthur Christmas
  2. Fred Claus (2007)
  3. Santa Buddies
  4. A Bad Mom’s Christmas
  5. Rise of the Guardians
  6. Frozen
  7. Bad Santa (2003)
  8. A Christmas Story

I hope this movie list gave you plenty of ideas. Make sure to look them up on IMDb before watching them. Almost all of them are not on Netflix so you’ll have to find other means.

Merry Christmas everyone and keep safe!
